Matsubaran-Fu is an old manuscripts made in Edo period, 1837.

Matsubaran is an ancient type of pteridophyte plant that is called as "living fossil". They look like a thin broom. The unique shape of branching and colours attracted plants lovers in Edo period.

I was interested in this illustration in this manuscripts. Because I thought this plant doesn't look so attractive and beautiful, as worth publishing the coloured art book in that time.
